Stephen Ndegwa

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Nairobi, Kenya

A visionary leader with over 15 years of experience in telecommunications and cloud computing, Stephen founded Lineserve to solve Africa's most pressing cloud infrastructure challenges and empower the continent's digital transformation.

About Stephen

Stephen Ndegwa is the visionary co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lineserve Cloud, Africa's premier cloud infrastructure provider. Armed with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nairobi and over a decade of hands-on experience in telecommunications and cloud computing, Stephen identified a critical gap in the African tech landscape that would shape his entrepreneurial journey.

Before founding Lineserve, Stephen honed his technical expertise as a Support Engineer at Hostraha, where he gained deep insight into the challenges businesses face when relying on cloud infrastructure located thousands of miles away. High latency, data sovereignty concerns, and unreliable connectivity painted a clear picture of what Africa's digital ecosystem was missing.

In 2018, Stephen turned his vision into reality by founding Lineserve in Nairobi, Kenya. His core belief was straightforward: African businesses deserved world-class infrastructure, built specifically for Africa, by Africans, with data centers strategically positioned across the continent's major economic hubs. This philosophy has guided every decision at Lineserve since day one.

Under Stephen's leadership, Lineserve has grown from a small startup operating out of a single data center to a continent-wide infrastructure provider with eight strategic locations. Today, the company serves over 50,000 customers—from innovative startups to large enterprises—with Tier III certified data centers delivering 99.99% uptime and 24/7 expert support.

Stephen's leadership philosophy centers on three pillars: technological excellence, customer-centricity, and sustainable growth. He champions renewable energy adoption across Lineserve's operations and consistently pushes the boundaries of what's possible in African cloud infrastructure, from launching GPU computing capabilities to building managed Kubernetes services tailored for the African market.
